Read the following two quotes from Henry Kissinger about Iran:
In 1970's - "introduction of nuclear power will both provide for the growing needs of Iran's economy and free remaining oil reserves for export or conversion to petrochemicals"
In 2005 - "For a major oil producer such as Iran, nuclear energy is a wasteful use of resources"
Hmmm...

Isnt the real issue whether ther are genuine reasons for the US altered stance towards Iran?
Interesting article from Chomsky. Are we not learning now that the international infrastructure needs updating, whether that applikes to th UN. or the NPT.
Just becasue the NPT allows Iran to have nuclear power doesnt mean that the US should be relaxed about it., given some of the recent iranian rhetoric.
Anyway, re Kissonger, we're all familar with finding things to say to support your instincts. He's an idiot anyway.
